Summer memories
My latest scrap quilt has been a pleasure to work with. It is full of summer memories, as most of the fabrics I have used somehow seem to remind me of summer.
There is the turquoise summer skirt, hubby´s blue summer shirt, the pretty Cath Kidston fabric I bought this summer, the slightly faded cushions from summers past, the left over lining fabric from my summer bag. And so on.
At the outset I worried that I might not have enough fabric for a whole quilt, but it turned out I had more than enough. And then some. All I need to buy now is the backing. And the wadding, as you can probably tell I have yet to quilt it.
Which will be a pleasure too, I am sure. Even though the quilting bit is not my favourite task when making a patchwork quilt, I will enjoy this one. How can I not, when I get to see all the pretty reminders of summers past run through the machine, while it works its magic? Summer memories indeed!
